What Students Will Learn
- 3D design fundamentals using industry-standard software (Tinkercad, Fusion 360 basics)
- Principles of manufacturing: tolerances, materials, structural integrity
- Iterate designs based on testing and feedback
- How 3D printing works: FDM printing, slicing software, material choices
- Design a product that solves a real-world problem
Program Outcomes
- Design and print at least 3 original 3D objects
- Complete a capstone product design challenge
- Understand the basics of the product development cycle
